DOG TRAINING

Private training built around your dog, not a formula.

Every dog is different. That's not a disclaimer — it's the starting point for how Katy trains. Before anything else, she takes time to bond with your dog, understand how they think, and figure out what makes them tick. Once that foundation is there, the training follows naturally.

Katy uses a balanced approach: positive reinforcement when your dog gets it right, clear corrections when they need redirection. She works on whatever your dog actually needs — leash reactivity, recall, aggression toward dogs or people, basic commands, behavior in busy or distracting situations. If it's something your dog struggles with, it's something she can work on.

Sessions are private, one-on-one, and come to you. Katy ties training into real-world situations wherever possible — walks, hikes, busy environments — because that's where the skills actually get used.

The goal isn't a dog that performs on command at home. It's a dog you trust out in the world.

MEET & GREET

Every new training client starts with a meet and greet — a no-pressure conversation where Katy gets to know your dog, learns about any behaviors you'd like to address, and understands what you're hoping to get out of training. It's also a chance for you to ask questions and get a feel for whether we're the right fit.

FAQs

  • Pretty much everything — leash reactivity, recall, aggression toward dogs or people, sit, stay, come, walking on leash, behavior in busy environments, socialization. If your dog struggles with it, it's on the table.

  • Yes. Katy comes to you for all private training sessions.

  • Typically one hour, but Katy will recommend a length based on your dog. Some dogs need more time; some need less.

  • Balanced and relationship-first. Katy spends time getting to know each dog before diving into training — because understanding how a dog thinks makes everything else more effective. She uses positive reinforcement and corrections when needed, always meeting the dog where they are.

  • We don't make outcome guarantees — every dog is different and progress depends on consistency from both sides. What we do guarantee is honest, experienced work tailored specifically to your dog.
